Stefan Jan Brede is the founder and head instructor of Talkademy.
Born and raised in Frankfurt am Main, Stefan combines a rare mix of linguistic expertise, real-world communication experience, and a deep understanding of how language works in professional environments.
He holds a First Class BA (Hons) in International Politics and Applied Linguistics from the University of Buckingham (UK), forming the academic foundation of his expertise.
Stefan began his career as a journalist and editor, working for over a decade with German national newspapers like the Frankfurter Rundschau, press agencies like dpa, the German Press Agency (Deutsche Presseagentur). and was editor-in-chief of Economy Guide, a German business magazine.
After a short stint as Marketing Director for an IT-corporation, he then moved into the advertising industry, where he spent more than fifteen years in Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Bremen working for major international as well as specialist advertising agencies as a copywriter, later Senior Copywriter, and ultimately Creative Director, before finally setting up his own business as a specialised copywriter and consultant.
During this time, he developed and led numerous German-language campaigns across print, radio, and television—some of which received national and international awards. This background gives him a sharp instinct for how German is actually used: Clearly, persuasively, and with purpose.
In 2017, he was invited by a leading Frankfurt language school to teach German to international professionals. What began as a change of pace on the side quickly developed into a passion and soon into a second profession—one that draws not only on his extensive professional experience, but also on a strong sense of empathy for and understanding of the unique challenges German-learners face.
Since then, Stefan has worked with diplomats, financial experts from the European Central Bank, and professionals from international banking, engineering, legal, and IT sectors. This breadth of teaching across industries adds a further dimension to his experience in the practical mastery of the German language.
Today, Stefan teaches exclusively online, working with motivated learners who need German not just to get by — but to perform confidently in German in real-world situations.
